Iowa Family Leadership Training Institute (IFLTI)
Parents and primary caregivers of children ages 3 to 19 with special health care needs are invited to participate in a special leadership training. The goals of this training are to:
- Learn more about how to work most effectively with partners
- Become aware of one's own path to leadership
- Discover new strategies for advocacy
- Prepare a Community Service Project that impacts the community or system with the support of experienced family leaders
Sessions are offered at no cost to participants. Lodging, meals, and a stipend for expenses are included For more information or to apply, visit www.chsciowa.org/iflti.

Digital Storytelling
Training for parents and caregivers of Iowa children and youth with special health care needs offered by the Iowa Family Leadership Training Institute.
Digital Storytelling is a 3-day workshop designed to help families bring their story to life for advocacy and healing.
In-Person Sessions in Iowa City | November 11–13, 2026
- Wednesday, 1:00 PM – Friday, 3:00 PM
What to expect:
- Teaches participants to create and produce a 2–4 minute digital story
- Includes training in script writing, voice recording, and video editing
- Training will be held in Iowa City
- Lodging and meals provided
