Who Represents You?
Your Guide to the Iowa Legislature & US Congress
There are many issues facing the your elected officials every year. Lawmakers do not always know how a bill may affect the people they are elected to represent. That’s why it is so important to let them know what you think.
Our new 2025-2026 legislative guide, Who Represents You? can help. It combines all of the information advocates need into a single, user-friendly resource. You can use it to help with your advocacy efforts. This year we have added a new section to help you understand advocacy at the federal level (Congress) as well as the state level (Iowa Legislature). This guide is available at no cost to people in the Iowa DD Council's advocacy network.
NOTE: The Guide below was updated
November 13, 2025 with the winners of two special elections (House District 78, Senate District 1), House leadership changes, and several changes to House committees. Two more special elections are coming up in December - House District 7 (December 9) and Senate District 16 (December 30). Following these elections, there will be more committee changes.
