VOTER ASSISTANCE

Collectively, more than 450,000 Iowans living with disabilities can make a significant impact on the public policies and practices that affect their daily lives.

The DD Council works to remove barriers that prevent those with disabilities from fully obtaining the information, resources, and access they need to become actively engaged in civic and political processes. The goal is to develop a disability voting bloc that is recognized statewide as having influence over public policy decisions.

Below are materials we have put together for you to educate yourself and others about voting. Click on the images to enlarge or download and print.

Additional voting resources can be found on the Disability Rights Iowa and Iowa Secretary of State websites.

Iowa has new voting laws.

The changes to voting laws make voting harder for Iowans with disabilities.

For Iowans with disabilities who wish to vote, the DD Council is here to help. We provide voter trainings, voting assistance, and voting resources to make it easier for everyone to vote. Read the DD Council Position Statement on Voting. Learn about the new voting laws and important things all voters must know.
